This notice covers the website groundnote.dev. Groundnote, the software, runs on your own machine and is not part of it.

What happens when you visit

The site sets no cookies and has no tracking or analytics. It runs no JavaScript in your browser and loads nothing from other servers: pages, fonts and images all come from groundnote.dev.

Hosting and legal basis

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare, Inc. acts as our processor: to deliver a page it has to handle each request, which includes your IP address, the address requested and what your browser sends along.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in running the site and keeping it secure.

Transfer to the USA

Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the USA, and a request is answered by a data centre near you, which can lie outside the EU. Data can therefore reach the USA. The transfer rests on the adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and on standard contractual clauses.

Storage

We store no access data ourselves. Cloudflare keeps connection data for as long as operation and security require; details are in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection (Art. 15–18 and 21 GDPR). You can complain to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); the one responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony (Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen).
